ivi TV Pro offers advanced DVR-like features such as record, rewind, fast-forward, pause, and the ability to access additional premium and PPV content for a nominal charge
What do I need to watch ivi TV? What are the system requirements?
- Processor - 800MHz or faster
- RAM - 128MB or more
- Sound Card - 16-bit
- Operating Systems - Windows XP SP2, or Windows Vista 2008, or Mac OS X, or GNU/Linux
- Internet Connection Speed - 128kbps (any broadband, such as: DSL, cable modem, T1 or faster)
- Video Card – 64MB video memory or more
- Screen Resolution - 800x600 or greater
Will ivi TV work on Windows 7?
Yes, ivi TV will all work on Windows 7 the same as it does on Windows Vista and Windows XP.
Do you have keyboard controls, a hot key interface, or remote controls for ivi TV?
We do not currently accept keyboard inputs, nor hot keys, but it is planned for a later release, as is remote control support. Support for all these input forms will coincide with our embedding into set-top-boxes, television sets, and home theater setups, allowing keyboard, hot key, and remote control of the ivi TV player.
When will I be able to watch ivi TV on my mobile phone or PDA?
Currently the ivi TV player is only available with laptops and desktops, we have porting underway for mobile phones, PDAs, gaming consoles, television sets, and set-top-boxes, to name a few.
How do I update my account information?
Updating account information such as contact or login information, can all be done from the "my ivi" section.
How do I update my payment methods?
Updating payment methods including credit card or bank information, can all be done from the "my ivi" section.
How is ivi different from archived video providers like Hulu and YouTube?
ivi delivers live TV over the Internet, via a downloadable free player. What you watch on ivi TV is an original broadcast, being watched by millions of others at the same time. In contrast, archived TV providers such as Hulu and YouTube offer a searchable library of previously-aired TV and clips, which are viewed after the fact.
How do I run ivi TV on 64 bit linux?
ivi runs on 32bit and 64bit the same, as long as there are 32bit libraries installed for your X windowing system. If you encounter an error upon execution "No available video device", you should see if you have ia32-libs installed. If not install ia32-libs and try again.
Why does the image quality of my ivi TV vary depending on where I watch?
ivi TV has an embedded algorithm that auto-adjusts its image quality to give you smooth performance based on your Internet connection speed. Faster Internet connections will provide higher resolution images. ivi TV will adjust the image quality when the connection is slow to ensure smooth performance and good sound quality.

I downloaded the ivi player but don't see it on my desktop. Where is it?
Windows:
- If you have attempted download of the ivi player but do not have an ivi icon on your desktop, it is most likely that the download was interrupted and you may need to re-download your player.
- Check the following: Click the "Start" icon to reveal your Start Menu, then click "All Programs". Do you see a folder named,"ivi"?
- If there is an "ivi" folder, hover your mouse and click the ivi logo, your player will launch. Copy the ivi shortcut from this folder to your desktop for faster access to ivi TV.
- If there is not an "ivi" folder, please login to My ivi https://www.ivi.tv/users/login and re-download your player.
Mac:
- Check your Desktop, or Applications Folder
- Depending on your browser type (Safari, Firefox, etc) you may be given the choice of location to expand or save, such as "Open with Stuffit Expander" and for other browsers the choice may be preselected in the "tools" menu of your browser. Check the settings in the "tools" pull-down of the browser and look at "options". This may reveal the location where your browser placed the ivi.zip.
- If the download was interrupted and not completed, you should return to my ivi and re-download the ivi TV player.
- Alternatively, if you know you downloaded it completely, but cannot locate ivi TV, perform a search on your computer: Spotlight -> "ivi"
Linux:
- Check your ~/Desktop, or ~/ directories
- Depending on your browser type (Firefox, Konqueror, etc) you may be given the choice of location to download, such as "to desktop" and for other browsers the choice may be preselected in the "tools" menu of your browser. Check the settings in the "tools" pull-down of the browser and look at "options". This may reveal the location where your browser placed the ivi.tar.
- If the download was interrupted and not completed, you should return to my ivi and re-download the ivi TV player.
- Alternatively, if you know you downloaded it completely, but cannot locate ivi TV, perform a search on your computer: terminal -> "find ~ -name ivi.tar"
What does the ivi Installer do?
The ivi player for Windows is downloaded coupled with an installer to your desktop. Double clicking this performs three actions:
- It installs the ivi.exe program and the ivi uninstaller program in the following directory c:\program Files\ivi or a directory of your choosing at the time of download.
- It places a shortcut to launch the ivi player on your desktop.
- It launches the ivi player.
