In one family, a drama unfolds; in another, a tragedy. Lyuba is abandoned by her professor husband, who has lost his head over a young student. Around the same time, Oleg’s wife is involved in a terrible car accident under mysterious circumstances. Both Lyuba and Oleg are left alone with their high-school-aged daughters. The paths of all the characters cross in the sunny village of Arbuzovo. Lyuba’s elderly mother has broken her leg, and instead of the planned vacation, Lyuba has to come and help her. Oleg, in turn, has bought a farm there and become the most prominent man in the area. Gradually, the city intellectuals become immersed in rural life. And love is already knocking at their door...
