In the Baltic Sea, Soviet sailors sink the German submarine U-250. On board are three state-of-the-art T-5 torpedoes with an acoustic homing system. The Germans realize that if the Russians dismantle the torpedo, they will gain access to new technology. Schellenberg, head of the RSHA, assigns his best agent, “Faust,” to destroy the supertorpedoes and a secret design bureau in Leningrad. A group of saboteurs is sent into the city for Operation “Birdcatcher.” Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Saburov and Major Elena Solei must identify the enemies, neutralize them, and find the traitors. Their love is also put to the test when Lyudmila, Saburov’s lawful wife, unexpectedly appears.
