8 years ago, businessman Andrey Kamanin joined the cosmonaut corps. After several years of grueling training and study, Kamanin learns that he has been assigned to a crew that will soon depart for the ISS. Kamanin is set to fly with crew commander Gennady Yashin and hereditary cosmonaut Timur Kutovykh. At the space station, they will have to conduct more than 170 experiments and, together with their American colleagues, deal with the aftermath of a serious accident. Yashin and Kutovykh are distrustful of the newcomer to the crew. Kamanin himself fears that his long-awaited flight may be canceled because of problems in his family: his wife recently announced that she is leaving him for another man. The news comes as a blow to Kamanin, but he asks his wife for one last favor: to keep pretending to be a «loving wife» for a little while longer.
