Debt collector Igor Dugin is a true master of his trade, capable of recovering money from any delinquent payer. To make debtors repay what they owe, he takes and sells their valuable belongings. One day, his colleague Anton proposes a wager: Igor must take on the case of the artist Lopatkin, who has absolutely nothing with which to pay off his loan. Igor finds Lopatkin’s only valuable possession—a precious ring. Unwilling to part with a family heirloom, the debtor swallows the ring.
