Deep in the forest, winter, a raging blizzard. Night is approaching; it is already completely dark. Several students who set out on a hike enter an old abandoned house to spend the night. They have lost their way, and there seems to be not a soul around. But soon one of them encounters a mysterious gamekeeper, who allows the guests to stay and even gives them a book to help pass the evening.
