Lisa is a successful photographer whose work is featured in exhibitions. At one such event, she meets Oleg Orlov, who has come to admire the works in unusual company: his teenage daughter Sasha was looking at the photographs with him, though not in person, but only via video call. The unusual visitors leave a lasting impression on Lisa, but she never expects to see Oleg on the doorstep of her apartment the following morning. The man deliberately sought her out to make an unusual offer. His daughter Sasha is very ill, but lately she has completely lost her zest for life, and thus her hope of recovery. He offers Lisa the job of being the girl’s companion.
Sasha strongly reminds Lisa of her late little sister, and she agrees to help. At first, she struggles to find common ground with the unsociable teenager, but gradually Lisa learns that Sasha has long been having nightmares about her late mother, and the girl is convinced that she will die soon. Neither her father nor her stepmother takes these fears seriously. But Lisa understands that the girl is in danger and that they urgently need to figure out what is going on.
