Pyotr Shtyr heads a special unit within the Ministry of Internal Affairs—the undercover operations department. His employees fight crime in an original way: instead of traditional investigations and painstaking evidence gathering, they change identities to gain the trust of suspects and expose them.
However, several recent cases have failed, and Shtyr realizes that even the most capable agents do not possess sufficient acting talent for this kind of work.
He then makes a risky decision: to enlist real con artists, for whom deception is a true art. Thus, Shtyr’s team is joined by a trio of swindlers whose talent for transformation will serve the good of society.
