Ulyana takes up a rifle to kill the factory director, whose actions caused her mother’s death. However, everything changes when she falls in love with the director’s son, Igor. The young man reciprocates her feelings, but the fairy tale ends when Igor receives a draft notice.
Naturally, Ulyana decides to wait for her beloved, but soon receives notice of Igor’s death. The heroine is pregnant and has to marry Kirill, the friend of her deceased lover.
