Olya and Vadim’s marriage seems strong until she loses her job at the hospital. Her husband, accustomed to living off her salary, announces that he wants a divorce, and Olya is forced to leave Moscow and return to her hometown, where her mother and sister live. There, she meets a police officer named Oleg, and a relationship develops between them. Vadim, who decides to follow Olya, is unhappy about this. He threatens them with violence, but soon he himself is found murdered. Since Oleg was the last person seen with him, the police officer is taken into custody.
Olya does not believe that Oleg could have committed the crime and decides to prove his innocence. Private detective Sergei comes to her aid, but he has his own motives in this complicated case.
