Stas Chumakov has long had a trail of problems following him. He cannot go a single day without getting into a fight, which is why he was fired from the police force. However, interns are still sent to his private investigation agency, because Stas is a true master of his trade.
One day, the detective finds the dead body of his neighbor, who died under unknown circumstances. When it turns out that her death is connected to Veronika, a law school graduate student known to Stas, the detective is forced to once again take on the very thing the entire police force tried to keep him away from — a criminal investigation. Veronika becomes his partner.
