After her husband’s infidelity, veterinarian Zhenya Khomskaya returns to her hometown and takes a job at the animal shelter run by her father. Gradually, she becomes immersed in the life of the shelter, but its tranquility is disrupted by strange and alarming events in the town. Animals go missing, accidents occur, and even serious crimes are committed, yet they receive no proper attention from the police. With her sharp mind and persistence, Zhenya becomes a voluntary assistant to the investigator and begins uncovering the secrets of the town’s residents, confronting human weaknesses and betrayal.
