The tense years of the Cold War. The KGB leadership learns that the Americans want to obtain a unique development by the renowned scientist Basov, who is working on creating a laser for air defense.
To prevent the spies from learning the laboratory’s secrets, Colonel Simagin decides to recruit Kim Nikanorov, Basov’s former employee, who has been engaging in profiteering since his dismissal. He must become a disinformation agent and feed false data to American operatives. However, the carefully planned operation becomes complicated when their opponent turns out to be a masterful spy nicknamed Leonardo, who has seen through the KGB’s plan.
