Retiree Vasily has lived for many years in the village of Olkhovka without communicating with either his daughter or granddaughter. Unexpectedly, he is accused of murdering his neighbor, the gamekeeper Stepan. Despite her grandfather’s difficult character and aloofness, Olesya is sure that he could not have committed such a crime. Vasily was so distressed by what happened that he ended up in the hospital, and now he asks his granddaughter to come and look after the house and farm. Olesya agrees, realizing that her grandfather needs her support more than ever.
Olkhovka gives Olesya an unfriendly welcome, as the villagers do not like people from the city. The young woman tries not to pay attention to the ill-wishers and focus on what matters most: solving the crime, finding the murderer, and proving her grandfather’s innocence. While she investigates this mysterious case, changes take place in her personal life. In the village, Olesya meets two men seeking her affection. How will the young woman’s fate unfold? It turns out that this tangled incident is only the beginning of her dangerous detective adventures, and many investigations lie ahead for Olesya, not to mention equally complicated matters of the heart.
