Venice, the 18th century. The rogue Truffaldino enters the service of Signor Federico Rasponi. However, he does not know that his master is actually a woman in disguise, the noblewoman Beatrice Rasponi, who, under the name of her late brother, is trying to find her beloved Florindo. After learning from strangers about Federico’s death, Truffaldino takes a position in the household of another nobleman, the very same Florindo. Soon it turns out that his former master is not dead, and the unfortunate servant has to divide his time between two households.
