Gods are powerful entities that create worlds and command all world forces. Since ancient times, humanity has worshiped gods as its creators and rulers of destinies. They were prayed to, given offerings and sacrifices, angered and placated, loved and feared. Each religion has its own god – one or several, but they are all considered creators of our world and interested participants in human life. Ancient Greek gods, for instance, often appeared to people in person, thereby reinforcing their belief in their existence, but for the most part, angels and prophets act as intermediaries between the human and the divine. Plots of movies about ancient gods and demigods are typically based on myths and legends ("Wrath of the Titans"), and the films themselves turn out to be spectacular and captivating.
