The key moments of the war against Napoleon Bonaparte recreated on screen shed light on a significant milestone in the history of the Russian Empire. When the Russian army utterly defeated Napoleon’s troops in 1812, it did not yet mean the end of the war. Moscow had been burned almost completely to the ground, and the fleeing emperor was assembling a new army to make another attempt. The Russians joined forces with several European countries to take fitting revenge for the terrible fire.
The film artistically portrays the major battles and combat scenes in Dresden and Leipzig, shows the daily life of soldiers in detail, and accurately recreates historical costumes. Our army made a triumphant march across Europe all the way to the capital of France.
