The Ukrainian-Polish biographical Series "Anna German. The Mystery of the White Angel" explores in considerable detail the work and fate of the famous Polish singer, whose life was divided into "before" and "after" by a horrific car accident. Anna was predicted a spot in the pantheon of the greatest performers, but after the incident on the Italian highway between Forlì and Milan, the singer remained unconscious for 12 days. Fighting for her life, Anna recalled the nightmarish pages of her childhood—the arrest of her father on false espionage charges, her family’s flight and wanderings across Central Asia, the death of her brother, the Second World War, and their escape to Poland from Soviet security forces. Doctors did not believe that Anna would pull through, but she did; moreover, she was able to get back on her feet, and three years after the ill-fated accident, she returned to the stage. German began a new life, becoming the «white angel» of Soviet pop music, as she was dubbed by her admiring fans. The Series celebrates not so much Anna’s musical talent as her rare courage and willpower, which enabled her to survive the most difficult ordeal and return no less successful, becoming a true symbol of overcoming adversity.
