The first season of the Series «Prodigal Children» is devoted to the relationships within the Morozov family. The head of the family is a former military man who, after perestroika, became a small businessman and began reaching for the bottle more and more often. His wife is an orphan who does not know what affection and care are. Three children were born in their marriage, and the parents treated each of them completely differently. The eldest daughter, Galina, was obedient and did everything her parents told her to do. Yet all she received from her father and mother was indifference. The middle daughter, Lydia, was a straight-A student. Her parents loved her, forgave her minor pranks, and predicted that she would study at a university in the capital. The youngest son, Taras, had always been a headstrong boy and therefore became an outcast both at school and in the family. But there was one thing that united the Morozov children: they all wanted to leave their parents’ home as soon as possible.
