Angel Day

This project uses the tools of modern documentary filmmaking to bring the images of saints closer to the viewer. Host and author, journalist Yulia Varentsova, does not simply retell hagiographies, but conducts a genuine investigation: working with archival materials, visiting significant spots, and collecting oral traditions, she recreates vivid human stories. A special focus is on how the memory of heavenly patrons continues to live on today: the Series shows how, in different parts of Russia, traditions of celebrating the days of these saints are being revived and filled with new meaning.
