The Series is set in 1966. Lev Preobrazhensky is a talented plastic surgeon who intends to develop this field of medicine. He is capable of restoring the appearance of people who have suffered in accidents. But this is not enough for the doctor. He intends to open an Institute of Beauty and learn how to completely alter human appearance. However, the Soviet authorities have not yet made a decision on this matter, and Preobrazhensky has no choice but to run his own experimental department together with his cynical colleague and antagonist Igor Zorin. Gradually, Preobrazhensky makes significant progress in the development of plastic surgery, but along the way he will have to face serious difficulties.
