Maria Lushnikova is a successful surgeon who believes in the power of science and has no patience for mysticism. After being betrayed by her lover, she curses him in a fit of rage, and soon he dies in a car accident. Some time later, Maria’s right hand suddenly fails her: doctors cannot find the cause, and her career as a surgeon is threatened. On her mother’s advice, Maria travels to the village of Grachi to see the healer Evdokia.
Her meeting with the healer completely changes her fate: Evdokia dies in Maria’s arms, and Maria receives the gift of healing. Now the surgeon must accept her new role, but in addition to her inner conflicts, she is also opposed by Vadim Kizhuch, a psychologist who has spent many years exposing charlatans.
