In the many years since her separation from Pavel, Frodya has been unable to find new love. Time goes by, but she still longs for the past, secretly hoping that one day Pavel will return to her. The lovers parted because of the schemes of Pavel’s mother, who hated the girl’s family and convinced Pavel that Aphrodite had been unfaithful to him. Without looking into the details of the situation, Pavel refused to listen to his beloved’s explanations and left the village forever.
When the man finally returns to visit his elderly mother, he brings three children with him. Over the many years of his absence, everything in the small settlement has changed—except Aphrodite’s heart. The girl’s feelings, as she does not believe she can be happy with anyone else, flare up with renewed force when she sees Pavel again after their long separation.
