At the center of the plot is Rita, a young woman about to marry the talented architect Ilya. Rita is also an architect, and she constantly disappears at work to provide a financial basis for her beloved’s creative pursuits. However, Rita’s life is turned upside down exactly one day before her wedding— Ilya dies in a car accident. Now the heroine must travel to Tuscany to complete the restoration of an old villa that he began. There she meets Yulia, the housekeeper, and learns that her fiancé’s death was most likely not accidental.
