The documentary Series takes viewers back to the origins of the holy sites of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Since time immemorial, a pilgrimage path has led here, and stories of help received through prayer are still passed down by word of mouth.
The project reveals not only familiar names but also the personalities of the Caves elders themselves. At its heart are vivid portraits of Hypatius the Healer, Ilya Muromets, Titus the Warrior, Alypius the Icon Painter, and others: their choice of monastic life, service, and moral example. The series consists of five episodes: «The First Monks», «Martyrs», «Healers», «Miracle Workers», and «Princes and Boyars». Special emphasis is placed on testimonies of healings and other help granted to those who pray. Clergy, historians, theologians, and parishioners share personal testimonies, while key episodes from the saints’ lives are recreated in reenactments.
