The Russian melodramatic Series "When You Least Expect It" tells the story of dramatic changes in the life of a woman who had every reason to be proud of her life, but whose familiar world collapsed overnight. Sonya married successfully—Alexey turned out to be a loving, hardworking, and caring husband who surrounded her with warmth and comfort. Only one problem disturbed the young couple’s happiness—the absence of children. All of Sonya and Alexey’s attempts to conceive a child invariably ended in failure, and as a result, the spouses decide to try in vitro fertilization. Sonya’s pleasant preparations are suddenly interrupted by the shocking news that Alexey has an illegitimate daughter from a long-ago affair. The man himself did not even know that he was a father, but when he finds out, he adopts the girl after her mother’s death. No sooner does the teenage daughter appear in their apartment than Alexey presents Sonya with another shock: he no longer wants to try to have children with Sonya, preferring to devote himself to raising his daughter.
