The events of the Series unfold in 1989 in Odessa. A young woman named Natasha works as a nurse’s aide. One day, she falls in love with one of her patients—Lieutenant Yegor Kartashov. Yegor took part in the detention of a foreign vessel that entered the territorial waters of the Soviet Union and was wounded during the operation, after which he was sent to a hospital for treatment. Natasha understands perfectly well that he is a hero and tries to provide him with the best possible care. However, her neighbor Pyotr has long been courting her. He persistently seeks her affection and asks for her hand in marriage. But after meeting Yegor, Natasha begins to develop strong feelings for him.
