The first season of the Russian drama Series «Legal Doping», which can be watched online in our internet cinema with free access, tells, over the course of twelve episodes, the story of an athlete ready to do anything for Olympic gold. Renowned biathlete Lyudmila Primakova has been involved in professional sports for a long time. Her whole life is a struggle. The young woman has many victories behind her and is considered one of the best in her category, but that is not enough. Lyudmila has one unfinished matter left—Olympic gold. For it, the athlete is ready to make any sacrifice: she exhausts herself with training, but it does not bring the desired results. Her body is severely depleted. Competition is increasing, and other participants have greater chances of winning, which Primakova simply cannot allow. Having lost hope of victory, the young woman decides to take a desperate step. Among athletes, pregnancy is considered legal doping, while other performance-enhancing substances are strictly forbidden and may result in disqualification from competitions. Pregnancy accelerates the production of growth hormone, which acts like illegal synthetic analogues and gives the body much greater endurance. Lyudmila decides to become pregnant in order to win gold, but nature is not to be trifled with. The young woman soon realizes that in order to continue her career as a biathlete, she must have an abortion. Unexpectedly, hormones take over, and Lyudmila begins to think about motherhood. She no longer wants victories, competition, or training until her joints ache. Now the athlete’s main dream is family happiness, where she could fulfill herself not only as a biathlete, but also as a woman. The psychological Series Legal Doping conveys the emotional turmoil of a successful young woman. Lyudmila faces a choice between the career she has built throughout her conscious life and simple feminine happiness. Two important components of life are set against each other, and making the final decision is far from easy.
