Mikhail Lermontov, who is rightfully considered one of the greatest Russian writers, was a man of an extraordinary fate. He spent his childhood and youth without parents, fell deeply in love twice, was always surrounded by friends, took part in a war, and experienced loneliness throughout his life. Lermontov was killed in a duel at the age of 27, leaving behind an immense literary legacy.
