The mini-Series "The Litvinovs. Too Many Lovers" is the first screen adaptation of the episode of novels by Anna and Sergey Litvinov about private detective Pavel Sinichkin, who is approached by a suspicious man asking him to find his missing mistress. Sinichkin’s suspicions that the client himself is far from honest are only confirmed by the size of the advance payment the stranger leaves Pavel, but since the money has been paid, the detective gets to work. Pavel learns that the missing woman worked as a manicurist, that her personal life had not worked out, and that her only property was a one-room apartment. In short, it is utterly unclear who such a modest and ordinary person could have gotten in the way of. Sinichkin decides to begin by talking to the girl’s husband, but unexpectedly finds him dead on the floor of his own apartment. Pavel has time to curse everything in the world for getting involved in this doomed affair, but there is no way to return the advance payment to the client: he, too, has disappeared without a trace. Sinichkin has no choice but to see the investigation of this terrible mystery through to the end. One thing is obvious: manicurist Alyona was clearly not as simple as she seemed, if several men died or disappeared because of her.
