The first season of the Russian comedy Series «Love Is Not a Potato», which can be watched online in our online cinema with free access, starting with any of the eight episodes, tells the story of a cunning village matchmaker trying to marry off her best friend and daughter. Panya is an ordinary village resident whose only remaining relative is a nephew living in the city. The crafty nephew persuades Panya to move in with him so that he can sell her house and purchase a car with the proceeds. But Panya is used to her life and has no intention of leaving. To make her nephew leave her alone, she even jokingly said that she was getting married. The problem is that there are no suitable marriage candidates in the village. Lizka, Panya’s friend, tries to match her with a visiting artist, hoping to receive two sacks of potatoes in gratitude for her help. At the same time, she tries to match her own daughter, Tatyana, who dreams of marrying only a wealthy man.
