After her father’s tragic death, Maya and her mother are constantly moving, fearing a mysterious threat. Over the course of a year, Maya has changed several schools, ultimately losing touch with her peers and withdrawing into herself. The only thing that remains important to her is finding her father’s killer. Maya dreams of becoming a detective in order to accomplish this goal, and another move gives her a chance to prove herself in this field. At her new school, Kristina disappears—the unofficial “queen,” whom many hated. The girl’s bloodstained clothes are found in the schoolyard, but the police show little eagerness to search for the missing girl. At the same time, Maya gets hold of Kristina’s mobile phone. Without thinking twice, the girl decides to launch her own investigation.
