The two-part television film "Moscow Secrets: Liberiya" from the detective series about prosecutor’s investigator Nastya Vyazemskaya delves into the mysteries of Russian history, which is of particular interest to the protagonist, who is a historian by education. The absurd death of an antique shop security guard, who fell awkwardly from a ladder and was killed, leads Nastya to suspect that the accident was staged by dangerous people covering their tracks. Vyazemskaya is prompted to this conclusion by a page from an ancient Greek manuscript found in the deceased man’s hand. Nastya is stunned by the discovery, as she knows that the folio was kept in Liberiya, Ivan the Terrible’s lost library, and it is completely unclear how it could have appeared in Moscow, let alone in the possession of an ordinary security guard. Vyazemskaya immerses herself in the investigation, firmly convinced that she has picked up the trail of antique dealers and that serious criminal forces stand behind these people.
