The two-part TV movie "Moscow Mysteries. Poor Liza" is the seventh movie in the series about prosecutor’s investigator Nastya Vyazemskaya, this time starring Alexandra Bogdanova. News of a tragedy in Novospassky Park, where the body of a drowned woman was found in a local pond, distracts Nastya from her own problems: the young woman has good reason to suspect that someone is following her and listening in on her calls. Having begun the investigation, Vyazemskaya establishes a shocking fact: the deceased was named Liza, and her beloved was named Erast; everything happened exactly as in Karamzin’s work "Poor Liza," in which the girl threw herself into the water because of unrequited love. Nastya, however, believes that in this case everything is far more complicated, and that besides the former suitor, there are other suspects. While examining the evidence, Nastya learns that shortly before her death, Liza ordered a rare folio from an antique shop, and for some unknown reason the purchase was not processed according to all the rules. Another mystery is the large amount of alcohol in the deceased woman’s blood, whereas Liza’s acquaintances unanimously insist that she did not drink.
