The two-part TV movie "Moscow Mysteries: The Master’s Curse" from the detective series about prosecutor’s office investigator Nastya Vyazemskaya turns to one of the most unusual myths of Russian culture—concerning the screen adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s great work "The Master and Margarita". It is believed that this mystical novel is under a curse that befalls those brave souls who decide to adapt the book. The attempt by a new group of filmmakers shown in this movie is no exception: at Patriarch’s Ponds, right during filming, the actor playing Woland dies. There are many versions as to what could have caused the unexpected death. It could have been the machinations of the producer’s competitors, the antics of the Patriarch’s Ponds residents irritated by the noise made by the filmmakers, or the revenge of some of the victim’s personal enemies. In short, Nastya Vyazemskaya once again has plenty of work to do; moreover, this death is not the only one in this high-profile story. Other misfortunes soon occur, giving the especially superstitious participants in the case reason to once again speak of the eternal curse of "The Master and Margarita".
