The plot revolves around the adventures of a young student at a church boarding school who dreams of conquering the theater stage. Denise de Florigny appears to be a very modest and diligent girl. In reality, she dreams of the big stage and awaits the moment when she can finally break free from the tight constraints of the conservative boarding school. The heroine is helped in fulfilling her dream by the local singing teacher named Celestin, who leads a double life. In his free time, away from teaching, he composes music for theatrical numbers under the pseudonym Floridor. It is thanks to him that Denise gets the chance to perform in a variety show for the first time.
