Actress Yulia suddenly learns that her husband, a theatre director, is cheating on her with a young colleague. Disillusioned with her marriage and herself, she leaves for her brother’s country house, hoping to escape the scandal. But another drama awaits her there: her brother has died, and he managed to sell half of the house to Leonid, a former investigator—an unsociable man accustomed to order and solitude. Their forced cohabitation turns into a clash of personalities: the bohemian and emotional Yulia irritates the pedantic Leonid. Yet they are both united by one doubt: Yulia’s brother did not die by accident. Their joint investigation gradually brings them closer, forcing both of them to reconsider the past and their own principles.
