The war in Afghanistan finds Major Okovalov in the prime of his life. He is a brave and tough fighter in the armed forces of the Soviet Union. The mujahideen forces begin to grow when the USSR GRU learns of repeated deliveries of the latest weapons to the action fighters from the Americans. This threatens to reduce the effectiveness of Soviet combat installations to zero. The Main Intelligence Directorate develops an operation to capture «Stingers» under the most favorable conditions. Stationed at one of the military bases, Major Okovalov and his unit organize ambushes against the local mujahideen. They are ordered to successfully seize the cargo containing «Stingers» during the next delivery. Based on intelligence data, the caravan will not be a difficult target for the major and his fighters, as the enemy force is expected to be small. However, the situation gets out of control when the unit comes under heavy fire and their commander is about to be taken prisoner.
