The concluding part of the dilogy “The Last Gift.” The Master is assembling an army capable of destroying Arodan. Lika and Sevir, who has caused her much harm, must save the kingdom.
In the state of Arodan, society is divided into two categories: those who have received a name and the nameless. The Two-Faced Goddess reigns over all, sending caskets with gifts to the named. Each person receives their own casket, the contents of which can bring either happiness or misfortune. Only special people are able to open such caskets—they are called the priceless ones.
Lika is one of the priceless ones, but caskets do not yield to her at once, and she cannot open her own casket. One day, the girl is summoned to the royal palace to open the casket of the arrogant Prince Sevir. There is nothing inside, and the prince accuses Lika of theft. Unable to provide evidence, Sevir takes revenge in another way—and the heroine endures true torment in a prison city in the middle of the desert. Meanwhile, more and more sages begin to doubt the existence of the Two-Faced Goddess. Empty caskets become increasingly common, irreversible changes sweep through the kingdom, and creatures never seen before attack the cities. Moreover, someone calling himself the Master appears—he is forming an army ready to wipe Arodan off the face of the earth. Now only Lika and her tormentor Sevir can prevent the catastrophe.
