There is an agreement between Alexei, the depot director, and the town’s mayor: when the inexperienced Nadya ruins the operations of the food service establishment entrusted to her, the cafeteria will be shut down. The mayor will lease the premises to a restaurant, while Alexei hopes to use the amount due to him for this to improve the company’s financial situation.
Nadya, however, enthusiastically gets to work. Before long, she manages to get along with the staff, and the cafeteria begins to earn a reputation as a spot where the food is delicious and the prices are affordable. Moreover, Alexei falls in love with Nadya, and she reciprocates.
