The Soviet multi-part movie «Salt of the Earth» was made in 1978 based on the novel of the same name by Georgy Markov. In the first part, «The Strogoffs,» the author tells the story of the partisan movement in Siberia during the revolution. He does so through the example of the Strogoff family of beekeepers, whom he follows over three generations. «Salt of the Earth» continues the story of the Strogoffs. The events take place in the late 1940s. Against the backdrop of the country’s recovery after the horrific devastation of the Great Patriotic War, the Strogoffs, too, begin a new life. Many joys and sorrows, new love and new deaths, betrayal and miraculous rescue await them. Only honesty, nobility, and hard work will help the heroes overcome all the misfortunes that befall them.
