Varvara is the editor-in-chief of an entertainment channel. She dreams of launching a new reality program, “The Perfect Day,” about the everyday lives of ordinary families and flying to New York to be with her beloved. Her plans fall apart when one of the families withdraws from the project at the very last moment. Varvara quickly assembles a team of strangers to play the roles of the withdrawn participants: the channel’s technician Lyova and his son, a girl named Alina, and Varvara herself have to portray the Melikhov family.
