The documentary cycle is the result of the joint efforts of a group of talented historians and filmmakers, including Anna Grazhdan, Artem Drabkin, and Alexey Isaev. The narrative follows a clear chronology, beginning with Operation «Barbarossa» and ending with the Soviet-Japanese War. The Series consists of two seasons documenting and recounting the most important, bloody, epic, and defining events, battles, and figures of the Eastern Front of World War II. Each episode of the Series usually lasts about 45 minutes, while the project’s total running time is around 12 hours. During this time, viewers will gain a comprehensive picture of those dark years endured by Soviet Russia and its allied countries in the face of a common enemy.
The reconstruction of the battles is carried out at the highest level, using the most advanced technical means. Information is presented in the form of dialogues as well, in different languages for a fuller overall picture.
