The heroine of the melodramatic Series "I Will Always Wait for You," Alena Strogova, a student at an agricultural academy, transfers to part-time studies so that she can care for her seriously ill grandmother in the village. Alena gets a job as an agronomist at one of the greenhouses, but the changes in the girl’s life are only beginning. Her old friend Tolik Lyakhov suddenly reappears on Alena’s horizon. Having returned from military service, the young man decides to win the beautiful Alena’s heart at any cost: he brings her flowers, showers her with compliments, and even sends a matchmaker, but all in vain—the girl does not love him and has no intention of marrying without mutual feelings. Faced with an impregnable fortress, Tolik begins to worry deeply and turn to the bottle, hoping to drown his sorrow, which, naturally, only repels Alena even more. Meanwhile, Vladislav, the son of the greenhouse owner, returns from England, and he compares favorably with the lowborn Anatoly. Alena falls in love with the young man, unaware that his father plans to marry his son off to the daughter of a business partner. But the parent’s plans do not put an end to the love that has arisen between the young people.
