Party organizer Vadim arrives in a Soviet village to work with school graduates as part of the campaign «We’re Staying in Our Home Village with the Entire Class». His arrival disrupts the familiar way of life for several local residents. Kirill, an exemplary family man, falls head over heels in love with Valentina, Vadim’s wife, and is ready to do anything to be with her. A serious conflict arises between Kirill and Vadim, and soon Vadim mysteriously dies while hunting… Kirill falls under suspicion and ends up behind bars for many years.
