Elizaveta Boyarskaya’s heroine had to endure Nazi captivity and a long journey home in the dramatic Series «I Will Return». The role of her beloved, who went through the front lines and prison camps, was played by Roman Polyansky («New Year’s Tariff», «Mirrors», «Mommies».) The Series takes viewers back to the most difficult period in Soviet history—the years of the Great Patriotic War—and tells the story of ordinary young people of that era. Three very different daughters grew up in the family of Rastopchin, a freedom-loving professor at Moscow State University: Zoya, Musya, and Gulya, who soon became the daughters of an «enemy of the people». The family tragedy was followed by the tragedy of the entire country—the Germans invaded the territory of the USSR. Fate sent the Rastopchin sisters down different paths: deeply religious Zoya became a doctor, captive Musya was sent to Germany, while selfish Gulya set about arranging her personal life. Through all the hardships of captivity and postwar life, Musya carried her love for her fiancé Mitya. Fate showed no mercy to the young soldier, who was accused of desertion and, despite his heroism, was caught in the millstones of repression. Moreover, the youngest Rastopchina, Gulya, who had failed to find happiness with other men, came between the lovers.
