Since childhood, Elizaveta Dolmatova has lived with a sense of inferiority: unconventional looks, ridicule, and the absence of a mother. After failing to get into university, the young woman is left alone in Moscow and is forced to take a job as a cleaner. Fate brings her to the home of plastic surgeon Maxim Shestakov—a reclusive widower who has lost his wife and his interest in life. A bond gradually develops between them, but those around them see only calculation and madness in it. The struggle for trust, love, and self-respect forces Liza to rethink much in her life and understand that beauty lies not in flawless features, but in the ability to heal others’ wounds without losing oneself.
