Tanya, a graduate of an orphanage, arrives in Moscow from Kazakhstan to meet her father. Her mother, Lilia, left a letter addressed to Academician Vikenty Ryabinsky. In addition, Tanya inherited a valuable brooch, which is stolen from her on the way. Upon arrival, she finds the Ryabinskys, thereby dividing the respected family.
