Katya Mironova is a responsible and diligent police officer in the provincial town of Belkin who is promoted to captain for her good service. Soon, another captain appears in her department—experienced investigator Konstantin Romanov. However, for him, the rank and new job are a true career collapse. Due to a serious conflict with management, the man, with his heightened sense of justice, was demoted and exiled to this small town.
The two heroes must learn to work together in order to solve crimes effectively. Their first assignment is a complex case connected to a tragedy aboard Flight 1105.
