The Ukrainian melodramatic mini-Series "What She Was Like" tells the story of surgeon Alexei Bazhenov, whose life changed dramatically after meeting a smiling girl named Alya. Alexei managed to build a brilliant career in medicine. He earned a luxurious office, respectable clients, and impressive fees; his reputation in professional circles is beyond question. But suddenly, the gifted doctor, accustomed to relying on reason in everything and always denying any coincidences, realizes that there are things in life more important than scientific theories and practical skills. Alexei is captivated by Alya; not even the wheelchair to which the girl has been confined since an unsuccessful spinal operation when she was still a child disturbs him. The bitter irony of fate is that it was Alexei who made that fateful error many years ago, which he has conveniently forgotten, since after all, no one is immune to slip-ups. Alya, however, remembers this error well and immediately recognizes Bazhenov as that very doctor. Now the girl has a chance to get even with the man who ruined her life.
